Privacy Policy

DaTrack is a personal expense tracker built by Quoc Phan. Your privacy matters. This policy explains what data we collect and how we handle it.

What Data We Collect

Almost nothing. DaTrack stores all your expense data locally on your device. We do not store your personal or financial data on any server. The only data that leaves your device is the text or image you choose to send to the AI features, anonymous usage analytics, and subscription status (details below).

• No personal information collected
• All expense records stay on your device

Third-Party Services

DaTrack uses these third-party services:

Google Gemini (via OpenRouter)

• Used for AI-powered expense parsing (text and receipt images)
• Data is sent for processing only and is not stored on external servers
• Only activated when you explicitly enable AI processing (see below)

Cloudflare and Supabase (our AI relay)

• AI requests travel from the app through our own relay server, hosted on Cloudflare Workers with a backup on Supabase Edge Functions, before reaching Google Gemini
• The relay only forwards the request and returns the answer. It does not store or log your text or images
• It exists so that no API keys are kept inside the app

TelemetryDeck

• Anonymous usage analytics (for example, which screens and features are used) to help improve the app
• No names, emails, expense amounts or other personal data are sent, and the data is not linked to your identity

RevenueCat

• Manages subscription status
• Collects an anonymous app user ID and purchase receipts
• No personal data is shared with RevenueCat

Apple (refund requests)

• When you request a refund for an in-app purchase, Apple may ask us for information about that purchase. Through RevenueCat, we share whether the purchase was delivered, whether a free trial was offered and our refund preference
• This happens only when you request a refund, and only to help Apple decide on it
• Your expense records, categories, budgets and anything else you type into DaTrack are never shared

AI Processing

DaTrack includes optional AI features that can parse expense text and receipt images. Before any data is sent to the AI service:

• You must explicitly grant consent
• No data is sent without your action
• Text and images pass through our relay and are processed in real time, not stored by us

Data Storage

All expense data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. We have no access to your data. If you delete the app, your data is deleted with it.

No Tracking or Ads

DaTrack does not use tracking tools or advertising networks, and does not track you across other apps or websites. The only analytics are the anonymous usage signals described above.

Children's Privacy

DaTrack is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided data through the app, please contact us.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
