Privacy Policy

Okio is an ADHD voice companion app built by Quoc Phan. Your privacy matters. This policy explains what data we collect and how we handle it.

What Data We Collect

Almost nothing. Okio stores all your task data locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store your personal data on any server.

• No account creation or login required
• No personal information collected
• All tasks and records stay on your device

Voice Processing

Okio uses Apple's speech recognition (SFSpeechRecognizer) to convert your voice into text. Audio may be processed by Apple's speech services, similar to Siri.

• Voice audio is never recorded or stored by Okio
• Audio is never sent to any third-party server by Okio
• Apple's speech services may process audio as part of the system speech recognition (same as Siri and Dictation)
• Only the transcribed text is used for task extraction

Third-Party Services

Okio uses two third-party services:

OpenAI GPT-4o Mini (via OpenRouter)

• Used for AI-powered task extraction from transcribed text
• Data sent to OpenAI (via OpenRouter) includes: your transcribed text, today's date and current time (for scheduling accuracy), and your recent task names (for deduplication and context)
• Voice audio is processed by Apple's speech recognition (similar to Siri) and is never sent to OpenAI or any other third party by Okio
• Data is sent for processing only and is not stored on external servers
• Only activated when you use the voice dump feature
• You are asked for explicit consent before any data is sent, and you can decline

RevenueCat

• Manages subscription status
• Collects an anonymous app user ID and purchase receipts
• No personal data is shared with RevenueCat
• RevenueCat Privacy Policy

Data Storage

All task data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. A shared App Group container is used to sync data with the Okio widget. We have no access to your data. If you delete the app, your data is deleted with it.

No Analytics, Tracking, or Ads

Okio does not use any analytics SDKs, tracking tools, or advertising networks. We do not track your behavior or serve ads.

Children's Privacy

Okio is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided data through the app, please contact us.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
